Political View: Anthony is all but absent of the desires for power and prestige that had typified one part of Voldemorts followers and stands firmly between the prejudiced purebloods who laud their heritage over others and their targets, even if he is one of them. His Grandfather's narrow escape from Germany as a young man, along with the many stories he has heard about the Holocaust, have burned into Anthony, from a young age, the precise measure of truth, justice, and equality.

Anthony will get angry, even to the point he feels he is losing control, but he will never allow the anger to take his focus completely and permanently. He has desires but he does not covet and jealously guard them nor is he easily upset when they do not manifest, he is not easily disturbed, and it is only repeated failure that can raise his internal frustrations to the surface.

Personality

Agreeableness: Anthony is average in agreeableness. This is a balance between his respect for certain parts of the wizarding system and his distrust of the Ministry he learned during the war. However unlike most people Anthony must have an authority to look up to and given his continued dislike for the ministry he flounders without a solid role model for leadership. This causes him to act out in eccentric ways: identifying overly much with book characters or music, treating every little thing as some kind of sign, or zoning out for half an hour at a time. At the moment he lacks an authoritative centre and he often finds himself daydreaming, head in a novel, while his eyes scan the pages.

Conscientiousness: High on Conscientiousness, Anthony is anal-retentive in the extreme and despises all forms of disorganisation. He is bemused at how certain people manage to function amidst clutter and mess, while keeping his own place neat and tidy, everything goes back in its place. He will tolerate clutter only while it is necessary (i.e. A mound of books on his desk for a day while involved in research) But too much and he begins to stress out.

Extroversion: Anthony thinks too much too be an extrovert. He is social yes, but quietly independent, and never gives in to popular opinion. When in a social situation with conversation and conventions he disagrees with he will go quiet and eventually slip away after a polite interval, but if you can intrigue and entertain him he will happily speak up and dance on the tables with the right group of people. This was something that confused many people at Hogwarts: overeager in the classroom Anthony was often quiet out of class.

Neuroticism: Another high score for Anthony, he is introspection personified. One more thing that makes him appear cold and distant. He was not always so, and before the war pursued knowledge to the detriment of everything else, a few close shaves and the loss of friends sent him deep inside himself, where he sits, watching and weighing the world that passes him by. Anthony's sense of ethics have been rapidly developed by this, some might say overly so. He is uncomfortable with grey areas in morality and tends to err on the side of caution, butting heads with his potions master on occasion over certain transactions.

Openness to Experience: Not even Anthony's existential fears could dampen his love of discovering new things, he will gladly try something new for the sake of it when it comes to foods, fashions, and activities, he has a love of both chess and poker, has gone skydiving, and would like to try motorbike racing in some fashion if he could. He will gladly assimilate new magical knowledge but is careful about what he uses in his work.

His dead Father resurrected as an Inferi. Anthony's Muggle father was killed by the Death Eaters Not as a personal attack as much as a warning to other half-bloods. The attack was horrific, and forced to identify his mutilated father the image has been forever etched into his brain. The Boggart takes the form of a pallid and shambling figure, cold to the touch with vacant eyes, only pained groans issue from its lips.

Patronus--can they produce one? What is it and why does it have that form?
Wolf:
The Wolf is a methodical and careful hunter. Highly intelligent and displaying great loyalty to the pack the Wolf also edifies stoicism and dignity. Anthony's guarded nature is reflected in the patience and careful planning of the wolf, his quiet and reserved nature reflected in its dignity and stoicism. But the wolf is more than just a dispassionate hunter, the wolf is also caring, co-operative and free spirited away from the hunt, just so with Anthony. Away from his desk he becomes the carefree, jovial and sensitive person most of his work colleagues never see.

Sexuality

Straight. Anthony grew up in a home that suffered from a mix of cultural influences. Though more open-minded than his conservative father about sexuality Anthony has little interest in same-sex relationships, and any attraction he may feel for another man is usually transmuted into rapport rather than romance.

Lifestyle

Occupation: Currently working on his masters in potionmaking, apprenticed to master Calculus Alvero who operates out of a small shop in Diagon alley.

Residence: A tidy one-bedroom flat, self-decorated.
Wizarding accommodations are rare in Newcastle and Anthony Lives in a Muggle Apartment close to the city, but more importantly an easy walk to three apparation spots. He has to travel every day to and from London this way, as his apartment lacks a fireplace. The Flat is fairly ordinary, but Anthony with his love of decoration and finery has outfitted it with a number of finds from the local scrap dealer he has magically retouched, so it now resembles a Victorian residence, albeit a small and cozy one.

Financial Status: Comfortable but precarious.
Anthony's apprenticeship does not earn him all that much, his rent and bills take most of his paycheque, so he survives on staples, condiments and the cullinary skills he has managed to build from his potionmaking. It works out mostly, but cooking can be more subtle than potions in some ways. Something Anthony discovered when his lemon meringue pie came out as a meringue pie with a burnt, whole, lemon sitting in the middle of it. Since that day he has been a collector of recipe books.

Family dynamics:

Anthony's father was never comfortable with magic even if he accepted it. It was nebulous to him which only served to make it more mysterious and alluring to Anthony. Over time he grew further from his father and closer to his mother, likewise with his sister. This was one of the things that magnified his guilt over the death of his father. Recently relocated from the London area Anthony moved back to Newcastle to be closer to his mother. His sister has recently returned to school after a year off for compassionate leave. Once outgoing, her confidence has imploded, as she had not seen her father for close to six months at the time of his death.

His mother being the child of a muggle and a halfblood herself has no designs on relationships or future for her children, Anthony's wish to move into potions professionally was accepted without complaint. Decent money with plenty of opportunities Anthony will easily end up self sufficient and independent, all his mother has ever wanted for both her children.

History

Anthony Goldstein is the eldest of two children to a Muggle father (Linus Goldstein) and a half-blood mother (Callista Goldstein). Born and Raised in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Anthony spent his early years immersed in a mix of both cultures, he would watch TV and listen to the radio like most kids, and his mother would take the whole family off to quidditch matches on occasion. Anthony is a big fan of the Wigtown wanderers, but as he was growing up he always wished Newcastle had a team, he would daydream of being the team captain of the fictitious Newcastle Nifflers, but a flying accident at the age of ten dampened his enthusiasm for playing the game, as a result he never tried out for the Ravenclaw team at Hogwarts.

From day one, Potions had been his favourite subject even if he did find Snape crotchety and interminable. Of course, Anthony would never say that out loud. Of all the things he was good at, of all the things he found easy, potions was the one he enjoyed the most. Herbology, Charms, Arithmancy, Care of Magical Creatures... Anthony did well enough in anything he cared to try, but Potions mattered the most to him, and Potions was what he excelled at.

Anthony was delighted, though not surprised, when he was choosen as the male Ravenclaw prefect for his year. Anthony's understanding of his position as prefect was first tested when Harry wanted to found the Defence Agency after Umbridge's overzealous crackdown at the school. Having found out about the club from one of his closest friends, Michael Corner, Anthony wasn't exactly enthuastic about the idea at first, but he lost all his uncertainty very quickly. Umbridge, to him, was a bureaucrat and a myopic one at that. Once he was over his initial uncertainty, he was more than happy to look the other way and help out any way he could.

As the war began to loom closer and closer, Anthony's father began to agitate to have him come home from hogwarts, his constant letters by owl started in fifth year and were joined by letters from his mother towards the end of the year. By the start of his sixth year the letters stopped however, over the summer, his many arguments with his parents had settled into an agreement: He would return to Hogwarts and complete his studies there, they couldn't stop him. The most Anthony had ever argued for anything, but he didn't want to leave for any length of time, the bookworm in him couldn't stomach the idea.

After Dumbeldore's death, the letters resumed but only for a short while, a howler sent in reply silenced his parents once and for all. He was responsible for himself and he would continue to be so no matter what happened. Anthony stuck by his words and upon graduation got a job with potions master Aleena Portished and found a place of his own near Diagon alley in London. A student sharehouse that was full of shrieking, drinking, smoking muggle university kids. It was close to christmas when Anthony's mother showed up on his doorstep, white as a sheet. His father had been murdered.

It even made the muggle news. Athony's father hadn't been killed quickly The ministry theorised that the death eaters had been after Callista and Linus together, but hadn't bothered to wait for her to arrive home from work. After the funeral Anthony, jogged out of his lazy stupor on the war began to operate as intelligence for the ministry, breaking codes, assisting scryers, secretly hoping he would find the people responsible for his father's murder. He would get his chance.

Aleena Portished was a private contractor for potions, high-end stuff, and she had been receiving the occasional order from a shady character: Mordred Niveus. Niveus always insisted on muggle postage delivery. Aleena was not averse to such things, but increasingly she became more and more wary of her mysterious client. When Niveus began to pester her for restricted substances Aleena put a call into the ministry. One they failed to take seriously.

As it turns out Mordred Niveus was a death eater, and when Anthony arrived at work the next morning he found Niveus rooting through Aleena's supplies. Caught off guard Anthony managed to disarm Niveus before he could react. But Anthony had arrived too late to save Aleena. Standing over the helpless death eater, Anthony was about to try the Cruciatus curse for the first time when the ministry burst in, too late. An examination of Aleena's body and Niveus' wand revealed that he had also murdered Anthony's father, which only reopened old wounds anew. As far as Anthony is concerned the ministry's bureaucracy had cost Aleena her life, he saw it at work in his fifth year with Umbridge, and he had now experienced its effects first hand. Anthony spoke briefly at the trial before returning home to take care of his mother and sister.

Anthony was living in Newcastle when he heard news that the war was over. After working a muggle job for nine months Anthony had, had enough and he immediately put in to return to his studies, landing a position with Calculus Alvero.
